My love of crafts started in early 2000. While there were no classes to learn about craftmaking in my hometown, I utilized the internet to learn about the different kinds of crafts in Taiwan. It turns out that they have numerous books that helped beginner and advanced craftsman alike in a style that reflected the Taiwanese people.
From 1895 to 1945, Taiwan was a Japanese colony for fifty years. As a result, there is a deep and significant impact of the Japanese culture and arts and crafts in Taiwanese craftmaking. The impact is so large, that the quilting techniques will depend on the teacher’s personal preferences and each method is different. However, each unique technique is an efficient teaching technique that will ensure your knowledge as well as your excitement. While the Japanese techniques came from the United States, the Japanese influence can be scene as they developed it to fit their culture.
The Taiwanese craftsmen love Japanese patterns and customs with their advanced technology. Accessories and supplies in Japan were the key for the quality level achieved in their crafts. Moreover, the serious nature of their production of their goods ensure the highest quality level in these goods.
